NASM Flashcard Study
Studying NASM Flashcards on a study plan during your NASM personal trainer CPT test prep has proven to be one of the greatest forms of studying. Setting goals for studying the NASM exam components is the method for success.
You will have a much easier time with NASM knowledge and skills requirements if you use NASM flashcards.
The new NASM training courses and materials include large terms and topics. As such, it’s worth the price to access as many flashcards as possible. The more details you understand, the better your chance of passing the exam.
Studying for the NASM CPT requires time memorizing topics and terms in short bursts regularly. Every chapter has its terms and definitions, making flashcards extremely beneficial. Plus, it gives valuable feedback on your preparation.
Even for fitness professionals that already have a good grasp on exercise science terms, anatomy, and physiology (heart, muscles, arthrokinematics, etc.), flashcard study NASM-certified personal trainer certification can be very beneficial with topics like the OPT model program design, biomechanics, exercise technique, client relations, and nutritional concepts, which differ ever so slightly from other organizations.
This exemplifies why this form of study can be very beneficial to learners.
While any form of flashcard study is going to give improvements in many ways, the best form of flashcard study is going to be a spaced-repetition study system objectively.
As this is a free study system, it is not offered on PTPioneer, as it is too intensive. But, the best premium study organizations, like Trainer Academy, offer spaced-repetition study for their flashcard systems.
On top of this revolutionary flashcard study system, Trainer Academy also offers a money-back guarantee.
Regarding exam prep, study guides, and practice tests, Trainer Academy is your best option.
The National Academy of Sports Medicine does not offer any form of flashcard study within its online study portal. Instead, you must either make your own or use an outside resource.
In case you missed it, check out all the flashcard plugins for each of the 23 chapters in the NASM 7th edition at the top of the page just after the study hub.
Each chapter of flashcards highlights the terms and topics that need to be studied within each chapter.
NASM Domains of Study
NASM breaks down its test questions and their general study into 6 domains, or sections, which include the following domains:
- Domain 1: Professional Development and Responsibility (Chapters 1 and 2)
- Domain 2: Client Relations and Behavioral Coaching (Chapters 3 and 4)
- Domain 3: Basic and Applied Sciences and Nutritional Concepts (Chapters 5 – 10
- Domain 4: Assessment (Chapters 11 and 12)
- Domain 5: Exercise Technique and Training Instruction (Chapters 13 – 20)
- Domain 6: Program Design (Chapters 21 – 23)
Knowing the domains of study and the chapters within each domain is good.
When you take the domain quizzes or the NASM practice test and notice that you are struggling with some of the materials more than others, it is good to note which chapters are needed to be studied and focus on them here on the flashcard page.
Some chapters and domains will have harder to memorize materials than others, so it will be important to note all of this throughout your studies and return to the appropriate materials.
Pair the missed questions in the PTPioneer practice exams, and the NASM CPT study guide chapters for your best chance on the final personal trainer exam.
Implementing the NASM Flashcards
Studying flashcards is one of the more popular study options and one of the easiest. It just requires a set of cards of meaningful terms and topics and the willpower to study.
The main idea behind implementing flashcards is that short bursts of a study done regularly will allow for easy memorization of the materials.
By studying nearly every day, you will also work on creating a lasting study habit that will help you with just about anything you study for in the future.
Flashcards present a word or words and allow you to think of the answer or associated topics to reach the answer or definition.
They are extremely beneficial in studying all types of materials.
The PTPioneer chapter flashcards below are curated to contain the most important information for every chapter that can be studied in this flashcard format. They will encompass what I view as the most important information.
If the flashcard set doesn’t have the term or topic you most struggle with, then it can be very beneficial to try and do the same form of studying by writing down the terms.
Some researchers even claim that writing or writing cards enhances studying.
If you notice yourself getting a lot of value from the flashcards, then perhaps it is best to try writing them down in a journal to enhance the study even more.
Again, it is also about creating good study habits for your future as a learner.
Good luck with your studies, and if you are following the NASM study hub in order, then make sure to go next to the cheat sheet page.
